OVERVIEW

P-Tech Network of Idaho, LLC doing business as Idaho PTECH Network (“Idaho PTECH,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you when you visit www.idahoptech.org, http://community.idahoptech.org, https://idahoptech.force.com/community/, or http://learn.idahoptech.org (the “Site”), how we use the information we collect, with whom we share it, how we protect it, and the choices we offer you regarding our collection and use of such information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.  The Site is offered and available to users who are 13 years of age or older and reside in the United States. Persons between the age of 13 and 18 (“Minors”) must obtain their parents’ or legal guardians’ consent prior to use of the Site. If you do not meet these requirements, you must not use the Site.  By accessing or using the Site in any manner, or by clicking or signing to accept or agree to this Privacy Policy, you (or your parent or legal guardian if you are a Minor) accept and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use[A1]  (http://idahoptech.org/terms-of-use) , which are incorporated in this Privacy Policy by this reference. If you (or your parent or legal guardian if you are a Minor) do not agree to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use[A2]  (http://idahoptech.org/terms-of-use), do not use the Site.


INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect personal information from you (and your parent or legal guardian if you are a Minor), meaning information about you that can uniquely identify you, such as your name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address, if you choose to provide us with such information, including by submitting an application, subscribing to our newsletter, posting comments through the Site’s message boards, chat rooms, and other interactive features, and using the comments section of the “Contact Us” page on the Site. We may also collect information about you that does not uniquely identify you. Additionally, when you access the Site using a mobile device, we may collect and process real-time information about the location of your device. 

When you visit the Site, we may also collect certain information by automated means, such as cookies. A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. We may also use third-party website analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect information about user traffic on the Site. The information we may collect by automated means may include but is not limited to the following:

  • information about the devices you use to access the Internet (such as the IP address and the type of the device, operating system, and web browser);
  • dates, times, and duration of visits to the Site (including whether you are a repeat or first time visitor); and
  • information on actions taken on the Site (such as page views and site navigation patterns).

USER CONTRIBUTIONS

The Site contains message boards, chat rooms, personal web pages or profiles, forums, bulletin boards, and other interactive features (collectively, “Interactive Services”) that allow users to post, submit, publish, display, or transmit to other users or third parties (generally described as “post”) content or materials (collectively, “User Content”) on or through the Site and permits you to submit to Idaho PTECH comments, suggestions, or other materials (together with User Content, “User Contributions”).

Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk.  Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Site with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.


HOW WE RESPOND TO DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Your web browser may let you choose your preference as to whether you want to allow websites to collect personal information over time about your online activities across different websites or online services.  At this time the Site does not respond to the preferences you may have set in your web browser regarding the collection of your information, and the Site may continue to collect information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.


How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

  • provide you with services you request;

  • allow you to participate in the Interactive Services;
  • register you to receive emails or other information or materials you request;
  • respond to your questions and comments and provide support;
  • communicate with you about our services;
  • operate, evaluate, and improve the services we offer;
  • understand your needs and interests and tailor the Site and our services accordingly;
  • enforce our Terms of Use [A1] (http://idahoptech.org/terms-of-use)and other agreements with you; and
  • comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards.

In addition to the uses described above, we may use the information collected through cookies to identify and authenticate visitors. We may also combine the information we collect with publicly available information and with that of other users of the Site. For example, we may use your and other users’ non-identifiable, aggregated data to improve the services we offer, for statistical analysis, and for other purposes related to our mission. We also may use the information we obtain about you in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection.


INFORMATION WE SHARE

We may disclose aggregated information about our users without restriction. We may disclose your personal information to our affiliates, or to contractors, service providers, and other third parties for use on our behalf. We may also disclose your personal information to:  (a) comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request; (b) enforce or apply our agreements with you; or (c) if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Idaho PTECH, users of the Site, or others.

We also reserve the right to transfer your personal information to a buyer or other transferee in the event of a reorganization, restructuring, merger, divestiture, dissolution, or other transfer of some or all of our assets. Should such a reorganization or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use your personal information in a manner that is consistent with our Privacy Policy. 


YOUR CHOICES

We offer you the following choices about what information we collect from you and how we communicate with you: 

Cookies. Most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable existing cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of all of the Site’s features. 

Emails. You may choose not to receive additional emails from us by following the instructions contained in the email or emailing us at helpdesk@idahoptech.org.

Location and Social Media Information. You can restrict Idaho PTECH’s collection and use of real-time information about your mobile device’s location through your device’s privacy settings. 

Web Analytics. You may opt-out of the aggregation and analysis of data collected about you on our Site by our web analytics vendor by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.  We also use our vendor Safesforce for certain web analytics services and at this time Salesforce does not offer the option to opt-out of the aggregation and analysis of data collected about you on our Site by Salesforce.  If you (or your parent or legal guardian if you are a Minor) do not agree to collection of data collected about you on our Site by Salesforce, do not use the Site.[A1] 

 [A1]If you begin using other web analytics services from other vendors that do not provide an opt-out option, change these sentences to cover the other vendors and update the “Last Modified” date at the beginning.


ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can review and change your personal information by contacting us as described below. Subject to applicable law, you may have certain additional rights to request access to and receive information about the personal information we maintain about you, update and correct inaccuracies in your personal information, and have your personal information blocked or deleted, as appropriate. For more information, please email us at helpdesk@idahoptech.org.


LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

The Site may contain links to websites operated by third parties. When you visit third party websites, such third parties may collect information about your visit and use it to provide advertisements to you. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the practices of third parties that collect your personal information. Each of these linked websites may maintain its own policies about the collection, use, and protection of your personal information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of such third parties to learn about their practices.


SECURITY

Idaho PTECH has reasonable security measures in place in an effort to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.  Please note that no electronic transmission of information can be entirely secure.  We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place will never be defeated or fail, or that such measures will always be sufficient or effective. Any transmission of information is at your own risk.  We are not responsible for circumvention of any Site privacy settings or our security measures.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a username and password for access to certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this information confidential.  We ask you not to share your username and password with anyone.


GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS

Idaho PTECH is based in and operates the Site out of the United States. When we obtain personal information about you, we may process such information outside of the country in which you are located, including in the United States. The countries in which we process your information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you are located.  We will protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy. 


CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

The Site is not directed to, and Idaho PTECH does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from, children under the age of 13.  If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information.  If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under the age of 13, please contact us at helpdesk@idahoptech.org.


CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Idaho PTECH reserves the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make a material change to our Privacy Policy, we will indicate on the Site that our privacy practices have changed and will provide a link to the new policy. In the event we make a material change to how we use your personal information, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of such new or different use. The date this Privacy Policy was last revised is at the top of this page. You are responsible for periodically reviewing the Site and this Privacy Policy to check for any updates or changes.
